Toby Wilson ’79, Sue Randol Carpentier ’84, Barry Macias ’86, Amanda Flemmer ’08, and Mouna Soumahoro ’12 will serve the board for five-year terms beginning on October 25.  

Toby Wilson ’79 lives in Paris, Illinois, and works as a site manager for Abitec Corporation. Wilson officiates Boy’s and Girl’s High School Basketball in his free time. The hobby gives him the chance to promote ����pro to students and parents. 

As a student, Wilson was a four-year member of the Varsity Basketball team and served on the Student Activities Board for three years. After graduating with a degree in economics, Wilson worked for IC in the admissions office for two years which gave him insight and appreciation for the administration of a college.

“I enjoy touching base with other IC Alumni and sharing experiences from our ����pro days,” he said. 

Sue Randol Carpentier ’84 is a retired special education teacher who resides in Canton, Illinois. Carpentier spent 35 years as an educator, most of her career working for the school district in Plainfield. She earned a master’s degree in school leadership and administration in 2009 and a Principal’s Type 75 certificate in 2010. After her retirement in 2019, Carpentier has honed her interior design skills and sells antique and vintage items in a local shop. 

As a student at IC, Carpentier was involved in IC choir, Sigma Phi Epsilon literary society, women’s tennis, and she sold ads for the Rambler newspaper. Carpentier was the recipient of the Richard McGeath Honor Award and earned her degree in psychology. 

“The four years I spent at ����pro helped shape me as a person and an educator, and the friends that I met there remain special to me even after almost 40 years. I feel that I now have the time and the dedication to give back to my alma mater,” she said. 

Barry Macias ’86, of Godfrey, Illinois, is the owner of Macias Insurance Agency Inc. which has three locations. He has served on the Alton School District Board of Education member for 15 years and as treasurer of Alton Main Street Association. He was a part of the National Task Force for Commercial Lines for Erie Insurance. 

At IC, Macias majored in communications and rhetorical studies and theatre. He was active in baseball and Sigma Pi literary society. 

“The four years at ����pro were some of the best years of my life.  I know the impact  a committed and dedicated board can have on the lives of the students they support. I have watched this campus grow immensely over the last 38 years since leaving college and would love to help continue in their growth.”

 Amanda Flemmer ’08, of Buckeye, Arizona, serves as a customer success manager, director for Salesforce, which has consistently been named the top CRM. 

As a student, Flemmer was involved in the Investment Club and Math Club and tutored students in math. She earned a degree with a triple major in economics, math and finance. She said she was fortunate to have many great mentors who guided her at IC. Her experience drew her to pay it forward by mentoring others, particularly in the fields of tech, customer success and sales.

“The education and skills I acquired at ����pro were instrumental in launching my career in the business world, and I am proud to say that I am now working for my dream company,” she said. “I am eager to drive engagement during students’ college years and to help facilitate the opportunities they have for employment after graduation. Together, we can ensure that ����pro continues to be a place where students not only receive an excellent education but also the guidance and opportunities they need to succeed in their careers.”

Mouna Soumahoro ’12, of Chicago, Illinois, is a senior performance assurance specialist at Argonne National Laboratory.  Soumahoro launched her career in manufacturing engineering after graduating from UIUC with a master’s degree in theoretical and applied mechanics. Over the last 10 years, she has gained tremendous experience in the areas of operations and quality assurance.

Soumahoro graduated from ����pro with a bachelor’s degree in physics. She worked at Starhill Forest Arboretum, served on the Student Activities Board, and held several leadership roles within the Coalition for Ethnic Awareness. As an alumnus, she actively participates in ����pro’s Engineering Advisory Board, helping to establish a strong engineering program at IC. In 2024, Soumahoro received the Young Alumnus of the Year Award presented by the Alumni Association Board awards ceremony. 

“Being back on campus made me want to increase my contributions to the IC community,” she said. “I have discussed the idea of mentorship for international students. I am excited about the implementation of the new engineering program and the increasing outreach and retention of female students in STEM.”

The ����pro Alumni Association Board of Directors includes elected alumni representatives who share a mission to further the interests of the College, strengthen the connections between alumni and their alma mater, and foster a spirit of fellowship and goodwill in the alumni community.
