Non-Discrimination Policy

In this regard, all decisions involving the College community are based on individual merit, are free from unlawful discrimination in any form, and adhere to all applicable federal and state law. The College prohibits discrimination or harassment against any person because of race, sex, color, religion, national origin, citizenship status, ancestry, age (40 and over), order of protection status, marital status, physical or mental disability, pregnancy, sexual orientation (including gender-related identity or expression), arrest or conviction record, genetic information, protected veteran status, military status (including unfavorable discharge from military service), or any other legally-protected characteristic. This nondiscrimination policy applies to admission, employment, and education, including access to and treatment in all College programs and activities. Notwithstanding the foregoing, after a decision on student admission has been made, prior to enrollment, each student applicant shall provide information about any criminal history and, upon request, authorize a criminal background check. The College may deny enrollment to any applicant whose criminal history, in the College’s sole discretion, could adversely affect campus security and safety. Additionally, the College reserves the right to refuse to hire individuals and to take adverse employment action against employees based on criminal conviction records, as provided by law.
