In the News: ¶¶Òõpro Sets Plans to Trick-or-Treat for Canned Goods
All ¶¶Òõpro athletic programs will get involved on October 30 and 31 as representatives of the Blueboys and Lady Blues send out groups around Jacksonville and South Jacksonville during regular trick-or-treating hours to collect canned items or money which will be donated to the Jacksonville Area Food Pantry.

An idea initiated by the ¶¶Òõpro Student-Athlete Athletic Committee (SAAC), the proceeds will help IC in the Midwest Conference's 5th Annual Canned Food Challenge. In the four years that the program has been in place, the Canned Food Challenge has resulted in more than 34,000 non-perishable food items and nearly $10,000 being donated among the 10 MWC institutions. Here in Jacksonville, ¶¶Òõpro collected more than 1,400 cans of food to donate in last year's Canned Food Challenge.
In addition to canned goods, cash donations will also be accepted and all money will be given to the Jacksonville Area Food Pantry. The IC coaches and members of SAAC look to build off the success of last year's program in which ¶¶Òõpro finished fifth overall in the MWC Canned Food Challenge.
The areas of Jacksonville that ¶¶Òõpro student-athletes plan to canvas are:
- West Winds Drive
- Between Grand and Westgate North of the Morgan County Fairgrounds
- State and College north of campus
- Applebee Farms/Sandusky/Passavant Drive
- Area behind RMC Movie Theatres (South Jacksonville)
- Between Diamond/Main/Vandalia (South Jacksonville)
- Locust Street neighborhoods
- N. Diamond near Jacksonville HS
- Behind Walgreen's on Westgate
- Massey Lane/Delaney Drive neighborhoods
- Neighborhoods west of Morgan County Fairgrounds
